My baby was the former category: he slept and slept and slept. It was lovely. Now he's 3 and making up for lost time, lol.

This is a funny, wonderful post!! I, too, have found so many of these things to be true!! Linda - I couldn't agree more about the husband thing! #4, #17, #30, & #31 are my favorites! It's really amazing how true #31 can be, sometimes, even as an adult! Also, another thing that Vaseline is good for - If you dye your own hair, at home: Put vaseline around your hairline & on your ears before you begin. If you get some of the dye on your skin, the Vaseline will keep it from staining your skin & it will wipe right off, instead, when you're done!

Couldn´t be written any kind of far better. Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about that. I will certainly forward this article to him. Really sure he can use a good read. Thanks for sharing!

This is true--

You will generally get better service at a restaurant—and perhaps a free appetizer or dessert—if you take a moment to get to know your waiter or waitress.

Remember, the hottie waiter we had for dinner? We got the fries on the house!

Great tips, Alisa and everyone!

No matter how long you live someplace, your husband will never know where things are
AND he will accuse you of moving them just when he finds them!

We eat at the same restaurant every Monday for years and have ordered the same thing for lunch every time. When we walk in, the servers are already starting to get our drinks, the waitresses and owner know us by name (and we them). The owner brings out a small take out cup of the dish we have on most visits, just for the heck of it. We even ask for the orneriest waitress. She has a twinkle in her eye while doling out the sarcasm and my husband loves giving it back! They're wonderful.

Robin--yes, my hawk one should probably read: "just as dangerous" or "not the only dangerous" or such. Thanks for pointing that one out.

Roxanne--You know, I think I agree with you, even if my dog is eating all of our TP because he's mad about his dog food (so the vet says). He is much easier to understand than the average human.

Lynn--thank you for suggesting the Petroleum alternative. I was hoping you would. I currently have three containers of Vaseline going at once--because I kept losing containers for a while and then buying others to replace them. Then I found all of the ones that I lost... It will take me a while to get through them, but, once I do, I'm going to try to product you mentioned.

I recently learned this one: "When in doubt, don't." Applies to any and everything. Takes so much stress out of life!

If you're kids are whining, pretend crying or having a tantrum, meditate and take yourself to a different (preferably happy) place. Before you know it, they're done and you've avoided yelling and getting stressed.
Also one of my favorites is: To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. It applies to a lot in life and I often think of it when I think of my sweet adopted daughter.
Thanks!

Just have to add my two cents on Vaseline. When our three kids were actually kids (back in the stone age), I kept two "cures" in our medicine cabinet and one in the freezer. They were: Vaseline, aspirin and ice. Basically if one of those things didn't work, I told the kids to either ignore the pain or bleeding or we'd head for the doctor.

In any case, I had a love affair with Vaseline (sounds downright yucky, no?) until I realized what it was made from petroleum. Now I understand why there's a gas shortage. I'd been using and doling out the stuff for 50 years! Recently I discovered a product called Un-Petroleum (seriously). Works just as well as the old stuff, feels a little lighter and I believe I'm doing my part as a good American, avoiding dependence of petroleum!
